New Aerial Showreel for 2021
Since founding Adarak, I have captured aerial footage for a wide range of businesses, from festivals, to outdoors activity providers, and even breweries. With four years experience operating drones, and dozens of hours of flight time, I am a fully qualified and insured UAS pilot, always ready for the next challenge. With the overhaul of UK flight laws in January 2021, it is more important than ever that you hire an aerial videographer and photographer that can get the incredible shots of your project, whilst operating safely and legally.
This new Aerial Showreel exhibits footage from a wide range of locations across the world, all filmed in accordance with local restrictions.
In 2017, before Adarak was established, I started with the best small drone on the market, the DJI Spark. Whilst limited to 12 megapixel stills and 1080p video, all of the non-UK shots in the video above were captured using the Spark. I now use the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, capable of 20MP photos and 4k video at 60fps to provide excellent quality images for clients such as Northern Monk, Camp Hill Estate, and Indy Beer Co. Careful consideration of framing and motion is key to show the striking nature of the scene, and including a human aspect helps to show scale and context.

I developed Adarak’s internal procedures with COPTRZ, the Commercial Drone Experts, to obtain a Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO), certified by the Civil Aviation Authority. This has been updated for 2021 in line with the new rules, including the A2 CofC and GVC (General VLOS Certificate).
A full flight plan is always prepared, with pre-site and on-site surveys of the area of operation and airspace, which is especially important if there is the presence of large crowds of people. In this case, all shots are planned to ensure the drone is never within 150m of people, nor flying over crowds at any point. A risk assessment is completed for each operation to identify hazards to members of the public, property, or roads and railways. £5m Public Liability Insurance is provided by Adarak as standard.
