Engaging with the community

Charity partners

Since 2022, I have had the privilege of partnering with Bramley Baths, a remarkable community organisation dedicated to providing health and wellbeing services in their local area. At Adarak, we are committed to supporting their efforts by producing high-quality videos free of charge.

These videos have played a crucial role in their fundraising campaigns, helping to promote their pool and gym services, educate young people about open water safety, and most recently, support them with an introductory film that highlights the significance of this community gem. Working with Bramley Baths has been an absolute pleasure. The experience allows me to collaborate with their incredible and hardworking team, film in a stunning Edwardian bathhouse, and connect with the people who benefit from their services.

In addition to this long-term partnership, I make sure I support at least one other charity every year, which has included creating free video content for the Swan Song Project, and sponsoring Get Together Through Gaming with Leeds Mind.

Empowering future talent

One of the most fulfilling aspects of projects like these is the opportunity they provide to nurture future talent in the video production industry. I am passionate about increasing diversity and inclusivity in my field, and I actively seek to offer paid work experience to students who are keen on exploring careers in video production. By focusing on students from lower-income backgrounds, I aim to remove financial barriers to participation, offering both expenses and payment to ensure their involvement is accessible.

I have collaborated with students from multiple schools and universities, including Leeds Arts University and Leeds Trinity University. These partnerships have allowed aspiring videographers to gain hands-on experience, develop their skills, and build valuable industry connections. Additionally, my role as a volunteer Enterprise Adviser for the Ruth Gorse Academy, a secondary academy in Leeds city centre, enables me to assist their careers team and inspire students by sharing insights into entrepreneurship and video production.

Committed to making a difference

I believe that my work should have a meaningful impact beyond the screen. By offering our services to support community organisations like Bramley Baths and fostering the next generation of videographers, I’m striving to make a positive difference in my industry and my community.
